Why nobody has explored the idea of a female supreme being… I can’t say for sure.
Besides the fact that different religions describe supreme beings with definite masculinity I think we’re all just plain scared of the concept. Maybe scared is pushing it a little too far. Maybe we’ve never imagined the concept to begin with. Funny. Because we all acknowledge the earth as a mother, so technically the supreme being should be a father. Technically. That’s one way to think of it. I’m big on anime and the few instances that come to mind where there has been a female supreme being, her reign has always been cut short by the need to restore ‘’balance’ to existence. A female supreme being would smother the world as we know it with so much love that we would have to save ourselves from it. Love as a notion is easily tainted, as opposed to justice. Maybe that’s the answer. Maybe no one has explored the concept of a female supreme being because we are more comfortable with the idea of being governed than being overwhelmingly loved. We care more for balance, and justice, and perfection than we do for things as…petty? Simple? As human as a mother’s undying love.
