A recent report in the guardian stated that The NESREA, along with The Nigerian Police and a few other national agencies have teamed up to implement the ‘National Vehicular Emission Control Programme’, which is aimed at reducing air pollution and monitoring carbon emissions in Nigeria
While at a meeting with stakeholders, Dr Lawrence Anukam started that the goal of the initiative is to ‘provide good quality air for citizens’. He also stated that the first pilot phase, which has ‘taken them months of careful planning’, will commence in Abuja- the Federal Capital- before the nationwide launch.
