SustyVibes at COP27

Since 1992, leaders from all over the world have gathered at the United Nations Climate Change Conference, also known as the Conference of the Parties, to discuss plans and policies to mitigate the climate crisis.

From November 6 until November 18, 2022, Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt will host the COP27 conference. The location of this year’s COP is significant because it signals that African states and other developing nations are now gaining recognition on the international scene. Africans are bearing the brunt of a climate crisis they are not to blame for, and we hope this acknowledgement translates into climate finance.

At SustyVibes, we believe that discussions at COP27 should highlight issues on Youth participation, Ecofeminism, Loss and Damage as well as the mental impact of climate change. Our network of volunteers, fondly called SustyVibers present at COP27 and participating virtually are promoting these discussions.

Open Letter to COP

Our demands for COP27 are simple, we need less talk and more action. Read our open letter to COP27 here.
