“Leave the oil in the soil!” is his mantra and he is unarguably one of Africa’s most consistent environmentalist activists.

Architect Nnimmo Bassey is the founder of Health of Mother Earth Foundation (HOMEF); a foremost environmental and ecological think-tank and advocacy organization. Through HOMEF, he has fought against environmental devastation on many fronts.

Nnimmo B is also the author of “Oil Politics; Echoes of Ecological Wars”, “To Cook a Continent” and “We Thought It Was Oil” just to mention a few.

He was recognized in 2009 as one of Time Magazine’s Heroes of the Environment and he received the prestigious Right Livelihood Award in 2010.
