What our participants said about Bioverse NG
Most of the time, when you talk about the ecosystem or sustainability, it tends to feel like there’s little you can do as an individual. With the Bioverse NG workshop sessions, it has reiterated the fact that it is individuals who make up bodies that enforce change.
Biodiversity is such an interesting topic. Makes me conscious of everything in my environment. Every life matters
The session was a great one that opened my eyes to things that will normally sound or look unnecessary to me. In summary, I have realised that as an individual, I need to make an effort to protect our planet. Every community also needs to get involved and have a sense of belonging, that is when our planet Earth can survive
The most important information I learned from the workshop was the fact that biodiversity is not just about the number of species, but also about the diversity within and between species.
I learnt that irrespective of my career type I can still pick a niche on biodiversity and be passionate and consistent about it. It really begins within our neighborhood to take up such responsibility, and I hope to be part of a team that has the burning desire to make change.
There are many courses that can land many young people a good career, some in biodiversity but we keep neglecting it because we lack the relevant knowledge. This workshop was an eye opener for me in understanding the relevance of those courses
When we protect the environment we are only conserving biodiversity but also our lives and to the benefit of our children in future.
I am a climate change writer but I have now understood that beyond climate change, sustainable biodiversity is very important. I got thinking immediately to see how visual pollution affects out mental health. I never heard or thought of mental pollution as a cause to worry about until Dr. Adenike's session.
I learned about the relationship between biodiversity and climate change and most importantly I learnt about biomimicry for the first time and am already looking into the possibility of engaging in biomimicry research and Studies
I always have a reason to be happy in every workshop. It is always an interesting session to be honest.
Thanks so much for the opportunity to participate in the workshop. It has been an amazing six weeks journey , filled with knowledgeable speakers and remarkable presentations.
Interning at Greenfingers was really insightful and adventurous. I participated in Wildlife research and writing, sea turtles rehabilitation, and release, campaign planning, workshop planning, community engagement, and taught conservation to children and adults.
