“Something is wrong with somebody” That was the first thing I uttered in that biology class, I had just realized that the lady wasn’t the one responsible for the sex of the child, I was furious, okay! That is an understatement. Then why did those mothers on Africa Magic keep blaming their daughter-in-law when she keeps having girls? Drag your sons, not their wives; they are the ones who determine the sex of the child.
But what exactly is wrong with a female child? I still don’t understand, they are going to drop your names? Are they not as strong? I really don’t understand.
Recently, a friend confided in me and said ever since her little sister who also happens to be the 4th daughter of their father has been born, the man has started acting strange, doesn’t give them money for groceries and told her mother point blank “Who asked you to give birth”. Maybe the issue isn’t about the gender you might say, it might be about his capability as a man. Our families are close, so I know it is the gender.
Why are you going to be mad at something in which you are the major determiner? What exactly is wrong with a girl? I’d pick a girl child, all day, every day. Who wouldn’t want to have such a beautiful, formidable force in their household? Maybe I am repeating myself, I know I am but I would still ask “What exactly is wrong with a girl child” Mind you, the people who were the first to cast stones at your mother when they found out you were a girl, they would be the ones to write list looking like mountain Everest when it is time to marry, chanting “She is our daughter, we took care of her”.
If you all don’t shift, (Inserts a meme), a girl is amazing, it even goes as far as family members encouraging a mistress just for the man to have a male child, because well, the woman is just not capable of giving you a girl child? Oh, well! Totally, her fault, right?
Maybe it is just being ignorant.
But I’d still ask, what is wrong with a girl child?
