Your Guide to the 2023 Street Conference

In just a few days, the world will come together to celebrate World Clean-Up Day on Saturday, September 16th. This global movement started in Estonia back in 2008 when 50,000 people cleaned up the entire country in just five hours. Since then, it has spread worldwide, aiming to raise awareness about waste issues and get everyone involved in clean-up actions.

Nigeria generates an astounding 2.5 million tonnes of plastic waste annually. We address this critical issue through our Susty on the Streets project where we actively engage communities, using local languages to teach people about the importance of protecting our environment, and how they can live sustainably. We also set a good example by cleaning up the streets.

This year, our street conferences will happen simultaneously in seven Nigerian states, to celebrate World Clean-Up Day. These states include Lagos, Oyo, Imo, Enugu, Kwara (Malete and Ilorin), Port Harcourt, and Kaduna. If you’re in any of these areas, we’d love for you to join this movement—register here.

We’d also like to invite you to support our work by making a donation. Your contribution will help us reach more people and organize more impactful street conferences. Please donate here.

Stay tuned for more posts where we’ll share exciting highlights from the main event.
