One Year of SustyVibes – Mushin Street Conference

Arguably one of our most exciting projects we have worked on; the Mushin Street Conference was our idea of having an – Evangelist approach to increasing awareness on waste management and recycling to a community. We like what happens online with our #StareDownonPollution hashtag but nothing beats one-on-one advocacy and with partners like Wecyclers, we made good impacts and had fun telling people in Mushin about pollution and recycling.

Below is a photo-story on how the Mushin Street Conference went down.

Starting from Mushin Local Government, the SustyVibes and Wecyclers crew began talking to the hood on waste management, littering and Recycling of course. We were able to register people on the Wecyclers platform on the spot.

People were excited about our movement – because we were very determined to get them to stop littering and to embrace recycling.

Some got too excited and started asking for Selfies!

We spoke to both old and young; our message was simple – Stare Down on Pollution.

Wecyclers did the best thing by coming with the trucks – we took waste from people in Mushin!

The officials at the Environment Unit, Mushin LGA did a great job sensitizing people during the conference.

This picture makes us happy! Really happy.

The Sun was really hot; we had done a great job walking along the Isolo road in Mushin, it was time to get some snack and take more pictures.

The SDGs are a big part of what we do – we take ’em everywhere!

Grateful to our campaign lead, Tamara Posibi for a great co-ordination, our executive assistant Miriam Ituah for ensuring we had sufficient coverage and the SustyVibers that showed up !
