Is Visionscape Suspending Lagos Operations?

After Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode lost the primaries ticket

to rerun for Governorship in 2019, there have been  speculations on what would become the fate of the International environmental utility firm, Visionscape that started operations earlier this year under the Ambode Administration.

News have been circulating that Visionscape suspended all operations across Lagos earlier this week.  However, according to a letter (see below) addressed to the chairman of Visionscape sanitation solutions by the Chairman of the Board of Investors, Lord Simon Reading, he expressed concern over the recent political turbulence in the state and the security threats to Visionscape. Apparently, there has been a surge in violent attacks on trucks/equipment and in some cases, Visionscape operators.

They requested that an executive team take mitigation measures to protect the safety of their personnel and assets in the state.

The letter concluded by expressing confidence that they’d come up with protocols to ensure the security of their people.

There was no mention of suspending or ending operations. However, it wouldn’t be far-fetched to say there wouldn’t be any tears if they decided to. Their works haven’t been exactly popular with Lagosians.
