Susty Event – The 2017 Women Green Fellowship Announcement

After a successful selection from the huge applications received for the 2017 fellowship, we are excited to announce the 4th edition of passionate, ethical and social change leaders, women who will lead and change the face of Green business in Nigeria.

The 3rd cohort was exciting and excellent and we are happy at the success recorded thus far by our fellows, who solved challenges around child mortality, empowerment, and food-security in a sustainable manner and are already impacting the society.

This year, twenty (20) women have been selected across the country from Bayelsa, Rivers, Delta, Plateau, Oyo, Abuja, Niger and Lagos etc. Our fellows will undergo classes, capacity development training, mentoring and in-depth coaching on entrepreneurship, green and social businesses, through the period of Six months.

In addition, this programme will include monthly one on one mentorship/sessions at the prominent Nigerian Employers Consultative Association, Central Business District, Lagos, starting from August 21 to December 13, 2017, while fellows will partake in a learning visit and facility tour to social organizations, initiatives and projects in the country focusing on social enterprise and the green economy.

2017 Green Fellowship

Women Green Fellowship is a place to ignite ideas, nurture inspirations and birth the solutions that will change the system from ego to eco. The program is geared towards helping learners re-establish a relationship with nature and learn the wisdom embedded in age-old rural communities. It also brings together social entrepreneurs and change agent from around the country to become green expert, leaders and industry thinkers in the clean technology world. Our fellows are exposed to inspiration, ideas, solutions and astute network that transforms and impact the world positively.

SMEFUNDS’ Capital, working with financial Institution partners, Impact Investors and Venture Capital Funds to accelerate a mix of Grant, Equity and Loan to help catalyse best Social Business ideas from the programme on a rotational basis. More than $2million in Impact Investment fund has already been committed into two (2) Clean Energy Social Enterprises in the last three (3) years.

We are still using this medium to solicit for impact investors and interested organization to join us in creating the ripple effect that will extend beyond the community of Life-Long Fellows to the rest of the country and the continent, by supporting and contributing to the Women Green Fellowship Programme as we collectively take actions that will bring about a sustainable world by 2030. Investment in Green Economy is an investment in our future and the country.
