We will screen popular Susty Movie – Nowhere To Run in Lagos on the 10th of March, 2017!!!
“Nowhere to Run – Nigeria’s Climate and Environmental crisis” tells the story of environmental threats and unique challenges to security in Nigeria from the perspective of affected communities. This 52-minutes documentary shows in very clear terms that climate change is not a story but a reality. It is a crisis. For us in Nigeria, the crisis has gone further than just climate change, we are confronted with an unrelenting environmental change.
If you want to learn more on the interconnected nature of the impacts of climate and environmental change; from the desertification in Northern Nigeria, ravaging 11 states; the shrinkage of Lake Chad and the intense floods that we experience, this movie is a must watch.
It covers the question of sea level rise along our 853km coastline, gas flaring and the heavy oil pollution of the Niger Delta, all accompanied by a severe loss of biodiversity.
We invite you to engage in this important environmental issue by attending the documentary viewing, sharing ideas on ways to increase awareness and networking with lots of Susty people!
