In the bustling streets of Nigeria, amidst the vibrant energy of its youth, extraordinary things have been taking place for the past eight years. SustyVibes, a movement driven by passion and a commitment to sustainability has achieved many incredible things. From youth-led street clean-ups to collaborations with Dangote and UPS and other international partnerships, SustyVibes Nigeria is ensuring that climate action is youth-driven and an everyday life achievement.
At the heart of SustyVibes’ mission lies a simple yet powerful idea: making sustainability cool and actionable for young people. This mantra has helped us tackle pressing issues such as climate change and mental health and climate-centered education. Our approach is inclusive and dynamic, every young person should be able to take part and become a sustainability champion.
As SustyVibes continues to grow in Nigeria, the need for global expansion increases. An exciting chapter has arrived whereby SustyVibes is now set to create a thriving community in the UK, one that mirrors the incredible achievements of its Nigerian counterpart.
Central to this vision is the idea of collaboration. We hope the SustyVibes UK Community is strengthened by the collective power of like-minded individuals, all of whom seek to drive meaningful local and global change. We hope to create workshops, collaborative projects and creative networking events where people in the community can learn about sustainability and discover the role they can play in shaping a more equitable and resilient future.
But the SustyVibes UK community will be more than just a platform for education and advocacy—it’s a space for creativity and innovation so that everyone within it can flourish. From film screenings to podcasts, the possibilities are endless. By infusing sustainability into every aspect of culture and society, SustyVibesUK seeks to redefine what it means to live in harmony with the planet.
As we look towards the future, the need for action has never been more urgent. Climate change threatens our planet, our communities, and our way of life. But in the face of adversity, there is hope. To kickstart this exciting journey, the SustyVibes UK community is hosting its first virtual meet-up on the 24th of April at 7pm. During the meet-up we will get to know one another for the first time and really brainstorm and decide what we want the rest of the year to look like for the UK Community. Through a common understanding, we’ll be able to kickstart exciting projects and campaigns. Whether you’re a seasoned environmentalist or just beginning your sustainability journey, all are welcome to join us as we embark on this adventure together.
