SDGs Campus Hangout Series – Unilag Chapter

We engaged young minds at the Unilag chapter of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) campus hangout series, where we partnered with the Faculty of Law to screen “Nowhere to Run”. This documentary enlightens people on the environmental crisis peculiar to various regions of our country Nigeria, highlighting possible measures to tackle these issues.

We are working with Nigerian universities to popularize the sustainable development goals by hosting campus events and projects that get students involved with the goals.

At the end of the movie, participants confirmed the need for people to imbibe a sustainable lifestyle as this plays a major role in achieving sustainable cities and communities stating that it takes not just the government but collective effort to ensure sustainability. Also, gas flaring laws need to be implemented as well as grass-roots intervention in these areas that have been affected negatively by the activities of the big polluters.
