SustyVibes partners with Passion House to Clean up OAU Campus

Have you heard?!

We are storming the Obafemi Awolowo University on the 22nd of October, 2016 to clean up the campus as part of our actions for the #StareDownOnPollution campaign.

Press Release for OAU Campus CleanUp

For the past  seven years, Passion house has been leading clean up events in strategic locations in Nigeria and the impact of these events have been enormous, ranging from awareness on effective waste management practice to the health benefits of having a clean environment in a country with a rising population.

To step things up, Passion House has partnered with SustyVibes to engage university communities in clean-up projects that would further drive the message of having a pollution free Nigeria. The duo having identified that civil engagement is crucial to achieving this goal, would be combining the energy of young people with the passion of environmentalists in Obafemi Awolowo University come 22nd October, 2016. The event also further drives the organisations’ respective campaigns to #CleanUpNigeria and #StareDownOnPollution.

With effective partnership from the university’s Environmental Control and Management Students Association (ECOMSA), Life and Fitness Cycling and ANUNSA OAU Chapter, this campus clean -up would be the first in the series of many and the organisers call for partnership from government, civil societies, NGO and individuals who appreciate what this project is all about.

According to Mr Alex Akhigbe, founder of Passion House, the planet earth is all we have in common and it’s our responsibility to protect and celebrate the planet earth. Hence the need for the collaboration with organisations like Eco Nigeria, RecyclePoints, Greenhill Recycling, Street Waste, Therma Initiative, Clean and Beautiful Atmosphere Initiative and others that believe in our mandate to raise responsible citizens that are passionate about environmental sustainability and protection.

For Jennifer Uchendu of Susty Vibes, any project that promotes the need for community engagement in pollution activities must be supported and brought to reality and SustyVibes is committed to partner for a Sustainable Nigeria she said.

As we look forward to the October 22nd when the #OAUCampusCleanUp will hold, interested volunteers can sign up here to join this project and also receive updates on upcoming clean up events.

Organisers also implore the general public to follow  engagements of this Clean Up on social media and help spread the word.
