The Decade of Gas Policy in Nigeria: A Poem

The Decade of Gas is here, A policy that we must hold dear, A policy to harness our gas resources, And ensure a reliable global supply with forces.

The policy is ambitious and grand, A policy to make our country stand, A policy to achieve industrialization and more, A policy to make our economy soar.

The Decade of Gas sets out a roadmap, Towards a gas-powered economy with no load, By 2030, we will be a leader in the energy transition mix, And make our planet greener with no tricks.

The policy is data-backed and home-grown, A strategy to make our future known, To reduce emissions and lift millions out of poverty, And make Nigeria a leader in climate action with no enmity.

We will create jobs for millions with synergy, And promote a fair and equitable transition for all with energy, We will make Nigeria a hub for gas investment and innovation, And ensure a sustainable future for generations with no hesitation.

So let’s embrace this policy with open hearts and minds, And work together to leave our planet better for all kinds. Let’s take bold action to limit climate change impacts urgently, And ensure a sustainable future for generations eternally.

In Nigeria’s vast and fertile land of dreams, Where hope and aspirations flow like streams, A tale of youth and energy’s embrace, Unveiling truths in this transitional space. Amidst the tapestry of progress and change, A symphony of voices begins to arrange.

For in this realm, where energy defines, The fate of youth and vulnerability intertwine. Oh, average Nigerian youth, so resilient and strong, Amidst the chaos, you carry on, Through bustling cities and remote terrains, Your spirit ignites, unyielding to constraints. Keep the fire alive; do not resign!

In this Energy Transition Process, you stand, Amidst the trials, you make your demand, but the path is strewn with thorns and strife, And you face barriers that challenge your life. Keep the fire alive; do not resign!

The shackles of inequality firmly bound, Restricting your voices, barely a sound, Marginalised communities left in the dark, Their dreams and aspirations are missing their spark. Keep the fire alive; do not resign!

Yet, the importance of inclusion we must stress, For youth hold the key to success, With ideas and vigour, they yearn to contribute, To shape a future that’s just and resolute. Keep the fire alive; do not resign!

Let’s break these chains, unlock all doors, And walk hand in hand to distant shores, Where opportunities bloom, and dreams ignite, Guided by a vision shining so bright. Keep the fire alive; do not resign!

Young minds, be bold, let your light shine, Unleash your potential, it’s your time, Conquer barriers, overcome the strife, Ignite the flame that brings forth new life. Keep the fire alive; do not resign!

And as we embark on this complex endeavour, Let unity and compassion be our tether, For in the web of energy’s grand design, Lies the power to shape a world so divine. Keep the fire alive; do not resign!

So, stakeholders, come forth and unite,
In this dance of change, embrace the light, Let’s build a future where equity prevails, Where every youth’s voice ultimately avails. Keep the fire alive; do not resign!

So, stakeholders and leaders, hear this call, To foster an energy transition for all, Youth are the architects of change, Their voices must be embraced and arranged. Keep the fire alive; do not resign!

In Nigeria’s journey, let us stand as one, With determination, until we have won, A just energy transition we shall find, Where youth and marginalised hearts are aligned. Keep the fire alive; do not resign!

The time is now for action, we plead, From every stakeholder, every creed, Together, we’ll usher in a new dawn, A future where Nigeria’s youth are reborn. Keep the fire alive; do not resign!

In this intricate tapestry, we weave, The beauty of resilience and hope shall cleave, A masterpiece crafted by youthful hands, Nigeria’s energy transition forever stands. Keep the fire alive; do not resign!
