“Don’t Look Up” Movie Screening and Panel Session for World Environment Day

The Movie Screening was held on the 5th of June, 2022 at the Ebonylife cinema. The theater was almost filled to its capacity as we had 80 people in attendance, refreshment was provided to all attendees. The event started with a welcome address by the Founder of Sustyvibes (Jennifer Uchendu) thereafter an opening remark from Forever (Comedian)

  • The movie is an eye opener as it showcases how Government take serious threat matters with levity 
  • It portrays the role media can play to pass the right message to the populace as regards taking climate action
  • The movie serves as a pointer on actions young people can take to drive climate action

Panel Session

The Panel Session was anchored by Dr Ifeanyi Chukwuma, COO at Sustyvibes. The panelists were Olumide Idowu (Climate Change Champion)  and Onye Ubanatu (Multidisciplinary Creative Entrepreneur) who were able to reiterate how humor can help in communicating Climate Change, also they stated ways in which creatives can help pass the message of Climate Change to a larger reach. Their final charge to the community is to start small by taking little actions to reduce carbon footprint and be a part of organisations promoting advocacy on climate change.

Intervibes

This is an Interview based campaign where people get to be interviewed to sample their opinion about the environment and at the end of the day, we hope to get people educated about climate change in Nigeria. The compiled interview would be made available online for research and educational purposes.
