WesternVibers: Street Conference & Susty Schools Sensitization for World Environment Day

In Ogun state to commemorate World Environment Day, the SDGs were explained to pupils in three primary schools, in Ijebu North East Local Government in Ogun state:

  • Epiphany Anglican Primary School, Erunwon (100 pupils) – 6th June
  • Bethlehem African Primary School, Odopotu (35 pupils) – 6th June
  • Baptist Primary School, Ogbogbo (66 pupils) – 8th June

The sessions were interactive, as the placards were randomly distributed for them to identify, share their understanding and also learn more about the goals. At Baptist Primary School, the usual assembly talk was leveraged and we were able to discuss the topic “Let’s Save the Environment” Hence, we covered the meaning of “sustainability”, discussed some harmful human activities in the environment, and further explained some ways to live sustainably. This happened from 6th – 8th June 2022 with 400 pupils, and 30 staff in attendance.

This was a collaborative effort with some Teach for Nigeria Fellows.

We also carried out  “a community Clean up and Sensitization at Oba S.K Adetona Market, Idobi, Ijebu-Ode LGA, Ogun State on June 10, 2022. The team was able to sensitize the market people about effective ways to sort their waste and dump the waste properly.
